This puzzle is of very ancient origins. I haven't done any research on it, but I've heard that it is called Quo Vadis. I have called it "Simon's Sliding Puzzle", because the first time I came across it was when my cousin Simon got this puzzle for Christmas. There was a piece of candy inside the large yellow square which was supposed to be an incentive for solving the puzzle.
Well, Simon gave up and "solved" it by prying open the casing and getting the candy that way. See how you do!
