Othello
My Java Applet of Othello
The code is basically a port of
John
Thornley's ANSI C version, so most of the credit goes to him.
[If you don't see any game board, then probably your HTML browser does
not support Java.]
Here's the Java source.
And here's
the rules of the game.

Other Java Othellos
This list does not claim to be a comprehensive list!
If you want me to add yours to the list, or if you object to some of
the comments I've made about a game, just
e-mail me.
- Java Othello
by Kenji Fujimoto. This one is a reasonable player, and fast.
- Magoo
(what a name!) plays in a separate window, so you can play a (slow) game
while surfing other places.
- Turncoat
(yet another innovative name!) by Timothy Rogers has cool graphics,
but plays slightly different rules: it ends the game instead of passing.
- Java
Othello
by some grad students at the University of Virginia.
In this one you play either against the computer
(4 levels of difficulty) or against other players who are logged in.
- Othello for Java
by Brad Wagner. A liitle bit buggy, but allows you to play
human-to-human or watch a computer-to-computer game.
- JOthello
by Tadasuke Yamaguchi. Includes undo feature and 4 levels.
- Simple Othello
by Hideaki Sano.
- TJ Othello
by Tetsuo Igekawa. Features 6 levels.
- A game of Reversi
by Muffy Barkocy. This is a very simple game with no levels or options.
- Reversi II
by Ben Fry. This one is based on Muffy's, but still has no levels
or options.
- A Game of Reversi
by Keith.
- DK_Othello
by David Knight. This one includes a brief description of
the rules for those who are perplexed!
- KReversi
is a "multi-language" version written by an Alex 'Kazuma' Garbagnati.
Also a very simple game.
- NetLeaders have three versions:
Easy,
"Difficult"
(which is still easy to beat), and
Two player.
- Othello
by Anne Tan...
- ... and Yokui Hurai's version
clearly copied from Anne (or is it the other way round!?)
- This one
looks like Anne's too, only it's got more bugs!
Oh, and by the way, I don't check these links very often, so please
excuse me if there are any dead links. E-mail me about them if you like.
